“History of the Night and Destiny of Comets” is the title of the exhibition project of the Italian Pavilion at the 59. Esposizione Internazionale d’Arte – La Biennale di Venezia promoted by the Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea del Ministero della Cultura, for which Il Giornale dell’Arte has produced this publication. “Fermata Terra. Dialogues and texts on the cultural, economic and ecological model of yesterday, today and tomorrow” is a collection of texts that wants to become a kaleidoscope of narrating voices aimed at widening the perspective field of what curator Eugenio Viola and artist Gian Maria Tosatti will present within the Italian Pavilion. The core of this editorial device could be represented by the question: what kind of mechanism of self-deception has society produced in the last fifty years about the role of the human being in the environment and in collective relations, and which cultural, ecological and economic models will constitute a real alternative?
